Amidst an old cultural landscape called the Huy and within sight of the highest top of the Harz Mountains, the Westerburg looks back on more than a thousand years of exciting history. After extensive works of renovation, the Westerburg opened in july 2000 as a family run, four stars superior hotel offering restaurants and a cafe, conference rooms and ball rooms, a beauty farm, two spas and wellness facilities.

Since then, the Westerburg is renowned for its uniqueness and its good reputation reaching well beyond the Harz region. It is our first and foremost goal to keep up our high standards and thus offer our guests very memorable days in our house. Our ambitions have been acknowledged with several awards such as the Price of the Romanesque Road in 2002 or the gold medal of tourism of the state of Saxony-Anhalt in 2003. We are very proud, that our apprentices are always amongst the best in regional or statewide championships in culinary arts or hotel and restaurant management.
Every year since 2009, the gourmet guide Gault Millau recommends our restaurant "Princess Marie Pauline" for its very good cuisine and also points out the exceptional atmosphere of the hotel.

At present, our house is undergoing extension works. In the beginning of march 2012, 13 new first class rooms will be available to our guests. Also, our new Galery Spa with an 18x5x1.35 m pool, a jacuzzi, a bar and much more will open in march 2012.
